CHILTON COUNTY SCHOOL MEDIA CENTERS

MISSION STATEMENT

The primary objective of the Library Media Center is to implement, enrich, and support the educational program of the schools. It is the duty of the center to provide a wide range of materials on all levels of difficulty, with diversity of appeal, and the presentation of different points of view.

 

VISION STATEMENT

The vision of the Chilton County Media Centers is a student-centered program that promotes effective learning and teaching strategies and activities with information access skills through collaboration, leadership, and technology to ensure that students with the school community become lifeleong learners.

The circulation policy for Verbena students is as follows:

  • Annex students Grades K-3 may check out 1 book per week. 
  • Elementary students Grades 4-6 may check out 2 books.
  • High School students Grades 7-12 may check out up to 4 books.  A late fee of 10 cents per day is applied to books turned in late.  No late fee will exceed $5.00. 

The loan period for the Main Campus is for 2 weeks before considered late.  Replacement costs for lost or damaged books will be due as soon as possible.

 

Students and parents can access the VHS collection from home by visiting Verbena Library Program Manager, a web-based catalog search. This allows you to check availability of books, create lists, and review your account (due dates, holds, overdue books/fines). 

 

Help us earn free books by ordering from https://orders.scholastic.com/P7TJ2. Also, book donations are accepted.  Hardback preferred but not required. Thank you for supporting the Verbena High School Library Media Center and Verbena Annex Library.
